We Honor Veterans
HOPE Hospice is proud to provide medical care and comfort to veterans during the last stages of their lives. We at HOPE Hospice understand the particular needs of veterans and we do our best to address those needs. HOPE Hospice is a partner organization with the “We Honor Our Veterans Program” (WHV) and works with the Veterans Administration (VA) hospitals and clinics in our area.
Part of our program at HOPE Hospice is to honor our veteran patients for their service while they are still able to participate and their families are able to witness it, with a simple ceremony, wherever they call home. We are grateful and honored to provide these ceremonies to our veteran patients at their end-of-life, as this is our small way to thank them for the sacrifices they have made for our country.
At Hope, We offer specialized end-of-life care that acknowledges the unique experiences and needs of veteran patients including:
Military Cultural Sensitivity: Recognize and respect each veteran's service background.
Mental Health Support: Address issues like PTSD or trauma.
Pain Management: Individualized care to address and manage pain.
VA Benefits Navigation: Assist in accessing entitled benefits.
Spiritual Care: Offer support reflecting their beliefs and experiences.
Family Support: Provide counseling and guidance for loved ones.
Collaborative Approach: Interdisciplinary approach to care, involving medical, spiritual and social support.
Honoring Service: Acknowledge and celebrate their contributions.
