"I chose to be a nurse because I have a passion for helping people. I chose to be a hospice nurse because I believe that people deserve to die with dignity, on their own terms. I love working hard to help patients and families meet their goals and to be a source of comfort when they need it most."
Steven, MDiv Med
"I believe that being with people at the end-of-life is one of the most holy and sacred gifts that we can give to others. By offering the ministry of presence, the love of God, and the promise of eternal life, I feel that I make a difference in the lives of the patients I serve. Grief is tough, but I want to help as many people as I can to find peace and hope for the future. My family used hospice care when my aunt died, and their presence truly helped us all. I want to be a part of that "something bigger" and touch lives in the same ways they touched mine."
I believe it is important for individuals and families to be able to articulate their final needs, desires, and fears. Hope Hospice strives to be a sense of comfort in a time that can be so challenging for patients and their families. I am honored to work with such an inspiring team of individuals who all share a similar passion."
"After losing my dad from colon cancer then my mom from stroke, I thought that I was through with death experiences. Until one day my eldest son passed away. He was only 8 years old and I thought my whole world would shatter. But thanks to the support of friends, relatives, and people from different churches, my family and I were able to heal. I can relate with the families we serve through my past experiences and call upon those experiences to help them through a difficult time."

Marriage & Family Therapist Intern
"When I think of hospice, I think of sacred opportunities between loved ones to cultivate valuable memories and establish long-lasting legacies. Marriage and Family Therapy has a place in hospice as we focus on navigating, maintaining, and sometimes reestablishing relationships throughout the end-of-life journey. The emotional voyage families and loved ones take with one another through this process is essential and priceless. It’s an honor to witness and facilitate authentic and meaningful conversations that will influence future interactions and provide positive experiences with our hospice mission."
Spiritual Support Volunteer
"Hospice provides comfort, support, meaning, and dignity to both patients and their loved ones- and does so at a time when they feel most vulnerable and afraid. To provide light during this seemingly darkest of times is the greatest gift that I can give to another human being. That is why I believe in our hospice mission."
Maria, BSN RN
"Having been a hospice nurse for over 15 years, I believe that there is no greater way to help people than to provide care and comfort to their cherished loved ones when end of life draws near. We have worked hard to assemble a TEAM of like-minded individuals who will put our patients and families before themselves in order to make a difficult and uncomfortable experience smoother."
"Every time I am with a patient, I feel like I have found my purpose in life. I love being a source of comfort for my patients during a time that can be so difficult. Just seeing a smile from them can be so rewarding. I believe that hospice is not just about dying but rather getting the most out of the days that we have left. It is not the quantity that we live but instead it is the quality - the inner peace and love we spend with our loved ones is really what matters."
"I never understood hospice better than when I got myself involved by working as a hospice nurse. I had a better view that being in hospice is not just about being at the end and giving up, but it's more about your quality of life and making the most of what is left. Hospice means holding your hand and walking you through it, being there at the most difficult time, making it possible that people are people and they can regain dignity and independence regardless of their situation. Hospice is not just a support for the Patient, but to the family and caregivers as well."
HOPE Palliative & Hospice Care is a team of exceptional professionals dedicated to providing compassionate and dignified care focusing on the physical, social, emotional and spiritual needs of all persons experiencing loss and life-limiting illness.
We will walk with you on your journey, by your side, as you live out whatever it is that hope means to you."
